Naughty and Nice Buttered Rum

Ingredients


·         1 tablespoon butter, softened

·         1 tablespoon brown sugar

·         Dash ground cinnamon

·         Dash ground nutmeg

·         2 ounces dark rum

·         Boiling water


Directions


Put the butter, sugar, and spices in the bottom of a mug. Muddle together with the back of a spoon. Add the rum and fill the mug with boiling water. Stir and serve, regardless if you've been naughty or nice!

Actually a very late addition to your site. But I beveile it is a butter bell. You fill the top with butter, put water in the bottom. The water seals out the air, the butter stays fresh on the table and soft enough to spread. I have a large butter bell, and individual sizes would have been lovely at each table setting. So that is my guess. You can still buy butter bells at Vermont Country Store and other stores that carry old time products.
